We live in a cynical world, a world where it is second nature for people  to not believe.  Someone texts you that you won a million bucks, you immediately dismiss and erase the message. A politician gives an impassioned speech about how he wants to devote his life serving the country and we raise an eyebrow. A lot of things seem too good to be true and, I guess, in some cases that is true.

But what about the things that we should believe? What about the things that we should hope for? Have we become a people who are scared to be in faith?

More and more I realize how little faith I have. I find myself to be more and more afraid to commit my heart to believe. And I am disturbed. Has the world influenced me to stop believing? Have I confined myself to a world with walls where I can only move up to a certain point, where I  have to calculate everything before set out?

I don’t want to live here. I don’t want to live in unbelief. Yes, some things I have hoped for may not have come to pass. But how could I have forgotten the countless answers to prayers I have received in the past? How could I have forgotten that even in my lack of faith, God remains to be faithful? How could I dismiss that things that are impossible for men are possible for God?

Now I pose a question to myself: What is impossible with God?

Easy to answer: NOTHING.

Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. For nothing is impossible with God. — Luke 1: 36-37

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” — Matthew 19:26

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not withGod; all things are possible with God.” — Mark 10:27
